Nagoya
The short answer
Compare city or station pickup with Centrair pickup for the same car and return plan. SIXT's station branch uses an ORIX counter reached from the Taiko-Guchi exit.

Compare the trip fit, access and drawback before choosing.
| Choice | Taiko-Guchi station-area pickup | Centrair pickup after landing |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | A rail arrival or city stay that ends at the start of a driving segment. | A road trip whose first driving stage begins from the airport. |
| Good to know | SIXT names the ORIX counter at 2-12-11 Kamejima and gives an approach from JR Nagoya Station's Taiko-Guchi exit. | National directs its customers to Access Plaza on the second floor, with car pickup on the first floor. |
| Trade-off | Allow time for the street walk and contract steps after the train. | The return includes an exact airport-island route and handoff before check-in. |
| Next step | Prepare a station-area pickup | Plan Centrair pickup and return |
Car rental in Japan's Nagoya area can begin at a station office or at Chubu Centrair Airport. Choose that from the point where driving starts. A Nagoya city stay followed by a road trip can call for another rental period from a flight followed by immediate driving.
If the first days are in Nagoya, compare a later pickup near the place you will leave from. Include the transfer to the office and the stay's parking plan. If the driving part begins after a flight at Centrair, read the airport pickup guide.
Check the airport name on the flight. Do not choose a rental simply from the word Nagoya. The actual arrival airport and booked office must match the plan. A city branch can still be useful after rail travel. But its luggage and timing steps need to be included.

Use the exact branch named in your booking. An office reached from one station side does not show the route to another supplier. Save the street address and return entrance as well as the station label.
If you need step-free access, check the current station route and ask the office about its entrance. A short walking estimate does not include luggage, a new exit or an access need. Leave room for those steps when setting the pickup time.
Separate city days from the road-trip days. Compare current transport for the actual city stops with the work of driving and parking. If the car would mainly sit at the stay, a later rental start may fit better. If it solves a real luggage or access problem, include that benefit.
For the first driving stage, set the route while parked and allow time to learn the controls. Keep the initial day manageable. A road journey after a long train or flight still needs breaks and a realistic arrival at the next stay.
Check luggage capacity with the seats you need occupied. A passenger count does not prove bag space. Check child seats or other requested equipment in the booking, and read the supplier's class and model terms.
If the route continues to seasonal mountain roads, check current access and weather before reserving. Ask the supplier about the actual equipment. A Nagoya pickup address does not show that each later road is open or suitable for your driving ability.
Use the rental rules to check the driver and car class. A larger passenger car can raise another permit question. So resolve that before choosing it for luggage space.
For a station return, save the office entrance and leave time to refuel, unload and complete check before the next train. For Centrair, include the exact airport return route and transfer to the terminal. These are other departure sequences.
Read one-way rental terms if the car ends elsewhere. Get the actual branch pair accepted in the booking record. A supplier's general one-way statement does not show each combination or car class.
SIXT's listed Nagoya Shinkansen Station directions identify an ORIX counter at the Kamejima address. Match that to your booking. Another Nagoya booking may use another office. Keep the named counter, station exit and street address together so the rail arrival leads to the correct handoff.
Choose from the first driving day. Centrair can fit a drive after landing, while city pickup can fit a later start after rail travel or city nights. Compare the luggage movement, rental period and return. Use the airport guide for the distinct Access Plaza and island-return steps.
Check the route, current conditions and supplier equipment for your dates. The city pickup point does not settle seasonal road access or tyre suitability. Make the driving decision from your ability and the actual route. If a material restriction or equipment question remains unresolved, change the plan before payment.
Ask the supplier to accept the exact branch pair for the selected car and dates. Read any charge or restriction before reserving. Keep the accepted return in the booking record and plan the onward transport from that office. Do not leave the car at a convenient other option without agreement.
A Nagoya rental works when the station or airport approach fits the trip. Verify the office, check the car and set the return before comparing the final totals.
