About Rental Cars Japan
Rental Cars Japan helps English-speaking visitors decide when a self-drive rental fits a trip and how to prepare for the handover. The guides focus on driving documents, actual airport and station pickup routes, car size, cover and return plans.
We publish independent visitor guidance. We do not operate a rental fleet, run airport counters or issue driving permits. The booking provider and local supplier control their own prices, available cars and rental contracts.
What the guides check
Legal driving-document guidance comes from the National Police Agency and relevant official issuing bodies. Branch details come from the named supplier’s current directions. Road and access facts use the responsible authority where available.
A general destination catalogue is not treated as proof of a car available for a particular date. When an office record supplies an address or opening time, the guide identifies the source and check month. Travellers still need the latest accepted booking and any instructions sent by their supplier.
The comparisons often concern how to collect a car: airport versus station, city pickup after a stay, or a one-way journey. They do not claim that a provider is cheapest without a matching dated quote. They also do not present source research as personal driving experience or a fleet test.

Corrections and limits
If a branch closes, a source moves or a rule changes, use the contact form and include the affected page and the primary source. We can review the published guidance, but cannot amend a reservation or resolve a supplier’s contract dispute.
Start with the national rental overview to find the driving stage you are planning. Confirm the final documents, car and return instructions directly with the selected supplier before travel.
